We read the story of Elmer.

It is a wonderful story about a patchwork elephant who learns the importance of being himself.

Elmer, the patchwork elephant, thought the grey elephants laughed at him for looking different. Ashamed of his colourful appearance, he painted himself grey with berries. By the end of the story, Elmer realised the importance of being himself and learned that the others laughed because they find his tricks so funny!

We discovered how we are different and worked together to create a beautiful patchwork elephant. We also displayed small patchwork elephants around the school. How many can you find?

This story has taught us that we are all different and this is something to celebrate!

There are no outsiders at Barrow!
