Year 3/4 Week ending 20/4/18

Date: 21st Apr 2018 @ 1:06pm

It was lovely to hear all about the children's Easter holidays. Year 3 and 4 have a good week, starting our new topic all about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. Using inks, marker pens and gold pens, the children have created their own illuminated letters which we will be displaying soon.

In English we have been using inference to think about a characters thoughts, feelings and motives. The children have also written a narrative about a character from a picture which we are using as a starting point for our new unit of English work.  There are several children who have almost achieved their pen licence because they are positioning their letters correctly and have developed a neat, joined handwriting style.

In Maths, we started a new unit on place value and enjoyed playing practical games making 3 and 4 digit numbers. We also completed a mental maths test to look at which areas we all need to work on.

I have included some pictures of the cricket taster session this week also which the class really enjoyed.
